After I had my son I was very weepy for about 2 weeks. Im due in Oct w/ DS #2 and was very weepy in the beginning of my pregnancy and Im worried that I'll be very depressed or the weepiness will be worse after #2. Has anyone had a similar situation? And what can I expect? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I'm pregnant with my first and am "high risk" for ppd. I've been working with someone who specializes in PPD and she has a book about dealing with ppd with your second pregnancy. Postpartumstress.com [ Reply | More ]

my midwife told me that you have extra fluid after giving birth and you will get rid of it one of three ways, cry it out, pee it out or sweat it out. [ Reply | More ]

crying and depression are not at all related. I have no history of depresion. I did cry out the extra fluid. One has nothing to do with the other. [ Reply | More ]

two weeks? sounds normal to me. I was a wreck for a few months after #1 -- it was soooo different with #2 (though I had worried about it of course) -- was so happy with her, that when she was 3 weeks old I told dh I was so happy we should have another (i was clearly a bit delirious, but at least it was in a good way). So - every baby is different, hard to know how you will react with each one. hope it goes well for you. [ Reply | More ]

i *sobbed* around when my milk was coming in, i think there's some kind of hormone rush. begged dh not to go back to work and leave me home alone (not my proudest moment). but w/#2 it was much much better, so might be for you, too. i cried some, but had more perspective. it never felt like depression though, just weepiness.
