Our good family friend lost her son when he was 8.5 months, though it was due to excessive movement in the womb that made the umbilical cord cut off his oxygen. It was terrible, but I am relieved to say that she went on to have two more healthy children. Is placental abruption something that tends to happen in more than one pregnancy? [ Reply | More ]

so sorry for you loss. i had a ruptured placenta but they were able to save the baby. there are many people who have had stillbirths or late miscarriages and have tried again. you can find a support group, either online or IRL. it's so helpful to speak to people who have btdt. good luck. My best friend of 32 years had cancer went into remission, got pregnant and lost the baby at 6 months due to an incompetant cervix. It was very difficult for her. She went on the get pregnant again, and didn't tell anyone that she was until she was past 4 months, and wouldn't buy anything until she was 7 months - it was then that she finally felt relieved. She was on bed rest for almost the entire pregnancy. She went on the have a healthy boy. And 4 years later she got pregnant again. [ Reply | More ]
