what to do in this heat today in nyc? 22 m.o. and newborn. thinking about pool on 23rd st bc we're desperate and they have a kiddie pool - anyone btdt? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

not in the city, but I'd stay out of kiddie pools. ds kept getting various illnesses, rashes, ear infections, eye infections. Each time we took him to the Dr. we were told to keep them out of kiddie pools. They are so small that they get pretty warm, and between the diapers and snot, etc. the amount of chlorine they would have to put in to really kill everything would be dangerous. Stick with a bigger pool. [ Reply | More ]

sprinklers in shady park at beg or end of day. museum which has a/c. get a day pass at one of the ys (most post their open swim times). kiddie pool is fine too [ Reply | More ]
