It depends if you have any issues. I got an infection in my nipple and was pumping full time from day 5...now 5mo old and bf full time [ Reply | More ]

I bought Medela Swing. Had no problems at all with it. I got it before I had the baby as I knew I wanted to introduce bottle with bm at some stage [ Reply | More ]

I guess some people have no troubles bf. I had lots so the pump was a life saver...too much milk so I had to pump, infection so I had to pump...you can prolly wait and see if you have issues or not, and if not then hold the purchase until you need it. They dont recommend stockpiling milk so dont buy it for that reason alone [ Reply | More ]

I used mine from the very beginning. First to encourage supply and because from pretty early on, I pumped one bottle at night then my mother or dh gave to db later that night. Then I built up a good supply of frozen breast milk that we rotated through so that when I was back at work, we used some of it and then after I stopped nursing and pumping, db still had breast milk for several weeks. I used the Medela Pump and Style Advanced and it worked really well. [ Reply | More ]

I successfully bf for a year. Don't pump in the beginning. Let your baby and your body work out your supply. That is what nature intends. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Wait until after the six week growth spurt and then you can play around with and manipulate the system. Good luck. [ Reply | More ]
