After months (maybe years) of discussion, we finally decided to move out to the 'burbs, and now I feel frozen in place: can't get motivated to look at houses, research schools, or anything. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Its because you prob don't want to go. All my friends forced to move either froze to prolong leaving or jumped in like getting into a cold pool. You will be ok, so many great things about leaving NYC I am sure GL! [ Reply | More ]

Maybe because there's a lot for you to research! Choose an easy/fun task and do it for 15 minutes to get started. THEN you can come back here. [ Reply | More ]

It's not easy at first.Think about how much happier the kids will be, with all that extra space in their lives. I've been helping NYC parents move to lower Fairfield Cty, CT for years and they haven't looked back. If they need to go to a show/dinner in NYC anytime, they can drive back in 45 mins. You can have the best of both worlds. Excellent public schools and LOW taxes - no brainer! [ Reply | More ]

You gotta love these time estimates. 45 minutes from Fairfield to the heart of NYC! Complete BS until we're talking 3am. [ Reply | More ]

ITA, I know a couple families that live there and the commute is absolute hell, if you have to go back to the city every day. [ Reply | More ]
