20 mo ds has proven a nightmare to put to sleep for the past month. he paces his crib, tries to climb out, throws his blankets. if he starts drifting off he goes, "no, no, no, no, no!" and wake himself up. it would be funny if it didn't take an hour to get him to fall asleep. and consequently he's waking up earlier than ever, too. used to sleep till 7:30. this morning it was 5:30. help! Stop staying in the room with him. It sounds like he's keeping himself up to spend time with you. If staying up is boring, he might as well go to sleep. As for the early waking, don't go in until 7:00 or unless he gets really upset. Then go in and soothe, but no getting out until 7. [ Reply | More
