I delivered my second child there (Dec 2007). My experience was terrible. They could not find the attending anesthesiologist, Dr. Jill Fong. She did not answer any of her pages. After 2 hrs of waiting, I had to deliver sans epidural. I was very unprepared and didn't know how to breathe, stand, etc. The attending physician was a resident of Dr. George Sylvestre. She was very inexperienced and lacked any knowledge. There lacks accountability and communication within their staff. My experience giving birth at NYU Hospital was 100% better because their response for everything was so much faster and their staff cared more. Cornell was rated as "the best place to give birth" by "New York Magazine." But, that rating should fall because I've heard so many awful experiences recently from women I've run into. How was delivery staff, did they listen to your preferences, how were recovery nurses, did they support bf (i.e. no bottles/sugar water), etc. [ Reply | More ]

lots of interventions, lots of medical crap used prophylactically rather than actually to address a problem. Great if you like that, or if you're ok with ending up sectioned. [ Reply | More ]
