My son went to one, and I'll be honest with you - we did not care for it. How old are the children? [ Reply | More ]

I'll tell you what I think, and remember you asked. Not everyone ice skates. Not everyone has even been on skates. There are NOT enough adults to help those who don't. Many parents DO NOT want to get out on the ice. I think picking a sport/skill that many of your guests will not be proficient in is a bad idea. [ Reply | More ]

Sure, I thought of that. But I would only have an instructor/lesson based party--it wouldn't be a free-skate. [ Reply | More ]

would you enjoy a party where you hung onto the wall and fell on cold wet surface? [ Reply | More ]

No. I would make the DH get out there on the ice since he's a good skater. [ Reply | More ]

you would not be successful in making my dh get out there, but it sounds like your mind is made up. I hope its a great party [ Reply | More ]

Anywhere from 12-20. I actually wanted to do bowling, but she won't have it. [ Reply | More ]

I offered a "playground" party and she wouldn't have that either. [ Reply | More ]

That's boring as hell if you are not 3. If dd wants ice skating party, why not? The kids that can't do it either will come and start learning, or skip it. It's like with swimming parties, kids have a blast even if not everyone can swim. [ Reply | More ]

OP. I thought you were the same poster criticizing the skating party? I thought of maybe doing a party at Deb's Family Disco, but it may be a bit over the top for 7 yos. (meaning not sure if I can justify the expense). I think the adults might have fun though. [ Reply | More ]
