ear tubes: has anyone been successful with alternative methods for getting rid of fluid. i am very reluctant to put 4 yo under general. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

just do it. Dc got ear tubes at 5 and was LONG overdue. Hasn't had an ear infection since. Also, he failed hearing tests at school. His quality of life will be so much better with them. Imagine constantly having fluid in your ears. [ Reply | More ]

I agree with poster above. DD was having chronic ear infections starting about 14 mos. She was miserable, and it was affecting her appetite as well (though thankfully not her hearing). She went in for tubes/adenoids/tonsils when she was 2.3, and it made a world of difference. [ Reply | More ]
