WTF? I just called my gyno to get an rx for diflucan for a yeast infection, and was told that my Dr. has left my practice and the person replacing her won't prescribe anything without having seen me... and she had no appointments until a week from Monday! [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Can't you see anyone else in the practice? My Gyn will not prescribe over the phone. [ Reply | More ]

no - she's the "easiest" one to see. Her predecessor would give me diflucan over the phone without an issue - a YI is pretty easy to self-diagnose [ Reply | More ]

any friends who are docs? DH's doc? I find that for stuff like this, docs will usually do you a favor if you can promise to follow-up with visit to your own doc. [ Reply | More ]

walk-in clinic? or ask a friend if they have a doc who could get you in tomorrow. IME, when the doc doesn't take insurance, they usually have more aailability. My old GYN could always squeeze me in bc she did not do OB and did not take ins. [ Reply | More ]

Not really. Rx requires a doctor to prescribe. Can you google your old doc to track her down? [ Reply | More ]

I posted above - she moved out of the country. I am aware that a prescription requires a doctor - but this is a minor issue that needs to be resolved ASAP and my doctor in the past had no problem prescribing it without seeing me, and I've been told others do too! [ Reply | More ]

np: it's ridiculous that a doctor's office does not keep a few slots open for people who need urgent care - you really can't expect people to live w UTI or yeast infection for a week and a half! [ Reply | More ]
