That's absurd. Most schools will send you class assignment, separation schedule (for K only obviously) and supply lists in advance. [ Reply | More

some private schools do 1/2 day for the first two days of school for all of lower school, but I wouldn't exactly call it a separation period. After K, you just drop you kid off at the door on day one. [ Reply | More

depends on the school. Ours (Fieldston Lower) sent transportation info last month, orientation schedule last week, and I'm told we'll be getting class lists next week. [ Reply | More
