I am freaking out. I have a two kids exactly two years apart (3 and 15 months) and just found out that I am pregnant again. Had unprotected sex two days after my period stopped, so idiotically thought we were ok. Was making an appt. to get an IUD. Am totally devastated, and I know that makes me a horrible mother, but I just can't imagine three kids under the age of 4. Husband insists we keep it. Was planning on going back to work this fall (as an attorney) after a year off and now feel like my career is over and I'm destined to be a hausfrau for the rest of my days. Has anyone been in this situation or have friends that have. I was really done with two (whom I love more than I can express--I truly adore being a mother.). [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I have a friend in this situation. She just had her 3rd last year and was in the exact same situation as you (sex only a couple days after period). Her kids are also about the same age apart. She did, however, choose to give up most of her career. She works part time now and I'm not sure if she ever plans on going back full time. I do know she doesn't regret the 3rd at all though. I'm pg with #3 and we were totally finished at 2yr old. My kids are finally old enough that the youngest would be in school full time this Sept. I was finally going to have time for myself, ect..not now. I'm starting all over and at 40yr old. I was in shock and cried because I was very nervous..but now that I feel him squim around in me, I'm so excited to meet him. I know the time will fly. It won't be easy but I'm sure it will be fine!
