all the way back in college through Internet chat (it was called IRC back then). When we got married in 1995 we were pretty much one of the first few couple who met on the Internet and got married. We were even invited to attend a talk show (forgot which one that was) but declined. It was kind of embarrassing to meet and fall in love like that in those times. [ Reply | More

Met at a wedding. First date was amazing - met mid morning near where he lived so I assumed it would just be a coffee or something but we went for a walk in the park, went for lunch, went for4 cocktails, went for dinner, went to a club. I was having so much fun I missed the last train home. I stayed at his but we were very well behaved! In the morning he went out and bought us a feast for breakfast (fresh fruit, pastries, salmon rolls etc) but what really sealed it for me was that he also bought me a toothbrush! 7yrs later I still think he is great. awww... that sounds a lot like my first date with dh too! Met at the Met, went for dessert at Sabarsky, went across town for a quick pizza dinner, then downtown to a lounge, then went back to his place to talk and ended up falling asleep around 3am... next morning we walked to Zabars (I had never been) and he treated me to all his favorite specialties. I know - he was SO embarassed by it, but I had been a nanny and been through MUCH worse so it didn't faze me at all. He told me later that that's when he knew I was the one for him. (and fwiw, he's barely had a nosebleed since - I introduced him to humidifyers in winter, because they were caused by dryness) [ Reply | More

np: too cute. my dh made me dinner on our second date and burned his hand really badly. i had to nurse his wound (i was actually working in a burn unit at that time!) and then I had to finish cooking the meal! he too said that was when he knew I was the one. [ Reply | More

Awww...cute! About a month after we met (nosebleed story above) my dh made me dinner for Valentine's day... he made a delicious seared tuna with veggies, but the "appetizer" he made was vicchysoise, and he didn't clean the leeks well enough, so it was crunchy!
