Yea. It's been the worst 3 days on Wall Street in 25 years. My dh is a nervous wreck. His favorite retort, "Don't you pick up a paper?" [ Reply | More ]

We're going into a major recession, people can't get mortgages and sorry to say, the housing market is tanking. People won't be building homes or buying them at least for the next 9 months. [ Reply | More ]

I'm sure he is focused on work due to the problems. Give him space to sort himself out and he will talk when he feels able. I think this is a typical way men deal with stress (my dh anyway). [ Reply | More ]

normally, I would agree that he may be up to no good, but right now I imagine that he is just desperately trying to keep his job [ Reply | More ]

That is no excuse to leave your family in the dust, though. There should ALWAYS be an hour or two that he should invest in his family. [ Reply | More ]

np: you say that, but i have a truly devoted dh who spends more time with his kids than most dads, but when work is crazy he literally doesn't have a single hour to spare for us. and he gets so depressed about it but in this climate keeping his job is key. [ Reply | More ]

there are extreme circumstances that warrant it, and I imagine this is one. He also probably doesn't want to worry her too much, and it's all he's thinking about, so he probably thinks it's better to be silent. Op doesn't seem to understand how bad this could be, which suggests that he's trying not to share. [ Reply | More ]
