Well I hear it's easier than in NY, because my lawyer at one point, suggested I move there and file! [ Reply | More ]

I am so afriad that he will decide to take credit cards, empty the bank account. I don't want to start WWIII by taking money out of our accounts but I don't want to be left high and dry either [ Reply | More ]

np: It doesn't matter. If you take the money or he does, it will still be considered a marital asset. Worst case, if one of you empties the bank account and tries to hide the money, the other gets a forensic accountant to track it down. With AML/KYC laws what they are today, it is pretty hard to hide money without offshoring it. And offshoring has gotten much harder too. [ Reply | More ]
