Ped told me that 1 db does not need whole milk that I can use lowfat, does this seem OK? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Seems like there are a lot of opinions on when to switch. My ped recommends whole milk or at least 2% until age 5 for brain development. [ Reply | More

There's a lot of sh*t added to whole milk sometimes too. Varies by brand and organic ones are not necessarily better in this department. [ Reply | More

^^^that being said, I would stick with whole milk. We're overly obsessed with low fat in this country. If it's coming from a natural, nutritious source, it's not bad for a 1 yo. Just read "In Defense of Food" by Michael Pollen. Good perspective on this. [ Reply | More
