Flame away but this is my vent. I am not a mom who spends a mint to throw a first birthday party or rents out any place to have 50 dcs. I a not a mom who shops for handmade clothing for my dc and I don't run around the city going from class to class. Why do people think it is alright to be so openly critical about how I choose to raise my dcs? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

no matter what you do, somebody will criticize you for it. a friend said this to me when my first was born and truer words were never spoken. [ Reply | More ]

WTF? You are me. There is NOTHING that says you have to do things a certain way. Anyone who criticizes you has WAAAAY too much money and time on their hands. [ Reply | More ]

People do sh!t like that to impress their friends. Kids are just as happy running around and playing tag. We probably spent $150 on our son's birthday party in the park, and it was a hit: We made a bunch of food, bought some balloons and a cake, did face painting and a pinata and that was that. np: So you realize you're now openly criticizing how others choose to raise their dcs, right? It cuts both ways. [ Reply | More ]

I did because that's what the party I wanted cost. Why would you care how I spend my money? [ Reply | More ]

Could not agree more. Stick to your guns. And if someone is rude enough to say something like that again, you can certainly counter by saying "We don't want to raise our kids to feel entitled and materialistic." [ Reply | More ]
