I'm so sorry--is this your first or do have other kids? That would be so hard. I had one friend on bed rest w/ twins and I visited her & taught her to knit so at least she could keep her hands busy. Maybe something like that? Get some great books? [ Reply | More

same happened to me - i'm sorry. i got a good laptop, bought lots of stuff for the baby online, read, slept, learned how to knit, scrapbooked my honeymoon (have been married 4 years) and picked out my wedding album. good luck to you - i was on bed rest in the hospital. [ Reply | More

wht do they have you on bed rest? Have you gotten a second opinion? My ob wanted to put me on bed rest after being hospitalized twice for bleeding. I went to a perinatal md who told me he really doesn't believe in it. I took his advice and just took it very very easy. Gave birth to healthy twins at 37 weeks. [ Reply | More

do they know why you went into labor? My doctor told me that preterm labot is caused by an infection...and it can't really be stopped. It is not caused from taking a shower, walking around slowly, etc. There have been studies that docs put people on bedrest because they don't know what else to do. And bedrest itself causes depression, low muscle tone and other ailments. [ Reply | More
