mine was an emergency surgery b/c hernia popped out two years after my DC was born. i was in excrutiating pain and there was a danger of bowel getting incarcerated. i'm pregnant again now and haven't had any problems, although my belly button never popped, which is odd. i'm somewhat concerned that it will rupture again while pushing, but nothing to be done at this point. Basically, I had no idea I had a hernia. Then I had sudden sharp pains under my belly button, which I ignored for a day or so. Then when I felt down there a few days later, I could feel what felt like a marble protruding out. I googled it and ended up going to the ER, where they recommended immediate surgery, because of risk/pain. I had surgery a week or so later. Got pregnant a year after the surgery and all has been fine (knock on wood...). Currently 39 weeks pregnant. [ Reply | More

np. GL for your delivery. Have a hernia post dc#2. If it's any consolation you might not have to push too hard with #2. For myself and my friends #2 came out with a lot less effort than #1. [ Reply | More
