Hired a teacher to work with ds over the summer. He was way behind in OT type stuff -- holding a pencil, writing, cutting, all things requiring fine motor skills. He's taking the ERB next week. Do you think I should mention this when I bring him in to the tester in case he mentions the teacher or let it go? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

What if dc mentions it? Worried that it will come out and don't want to be seen as hiding it. He was getting so frustrated because he was reading but couldn't write at all. The disparity was tough. [ Reply | More ]

Good perspective. Would you? Are you the poster from above who said she would not? [ Reply | More ]

Are you crazy? Keep your pie hole shut. Of course, this is not technically cheating but what if they write in report (fine motor skills were excellent and mom mentioned she hired a OT)? Why would you hire someone for this? Doesn't his prek do this or at home? [ Reply | More ]

PreK is very very progressive. Does none of it. And he was resistant to doing it with me. Kept getting really frustrated, probably because he felt like he couldn't do it and could act out with me. Thought he would respond better to someone else. And very good point. Thank you. [ Reply | More ]

I can't believe at a prek, a dc would not use scissors or draw something... in any case, don't mention it. Nothing good can come of it. [ Reply | More ]

And even if he mentions it, OT stuff is not the kind of prepping that is the problem - "special games [ Reply | More ]

If the kid mentions ANYTHING about the teacher, that comment will appear in the report. [ Reply | More ]
