Is it normal that 4m/o db can only nap for 30 mins at a time? It's like he has an inner clock that wakes him up after 30 mins. We don't have that problem at night, though. Will naps lengthen eventually? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Yes and yes. Our 8mo now regularly takes 1 hour, if not 2, naps. At 4 mo, I had asked my ped if she could have an internal 1/2 hour clock for naps. [ Reply | More ]

Oh, wow, good to know. Did you have do to anything (like Ferber) to lengthen the naps? Or did it happen on its own? Do you remember when? Poor db wakes up so tired after those 30 mins, so I know he needs more. Thanks. [ Reply | More ]

We followed the 2 hour rule and I put her down earlier if she was having trouble. We are just going to do CIO now. She was very hard to rock to sleep at 5 mo, but we felt it was too early to do CIO then and whatever stage it was ended in about a month and she became easier to put to sleep again [ Reply | More ]

Thanks. We're thinking that maybe the 2-hr rule isn't working for us; perhaps he doesn't need to be put down that often? I'm open to trying anything. [ Reply | More ]
