We used a payroll service. Your accountant can help and you can do it yourself. I can't remember the name of the company, but if you google you will find several services. I think the service cost like 400/yr. [ Reply | More ]

we treat our nanny as an independent contractor, so she's responsible for her own income taxes. we just make out a 1099-MISC for her at the end of the year. [ Reply | More ]

That's incorrect, unless she is incorporated. She works in your home and if the state ever audited you, you'd be in trouble. A few years back they cracked down on independent contractors in other fields, so doubt a nanny would ever be acceptable. [ Reply | More ]
