explain to her that you know she will need to look for another job but if should could stay until you leave, you will make it worth her while (if she gets an offer before you leave). It's selfish that in this economy you will not give her ample to to find another family. Try to help her out by rec. her to your friends [ Reply | More ]

yeah, you are being selfish. since you haven't told her yet I hope you are planning on giving at least amonths severence. I undersatnd where you are comign form though - I told my nanny way in adavnce and got screwed - even though I offered her severnce. [ Reply | More ]

We gave our nanny one month's notice, as stated in our employment contract. We are also giving her severance if she stays to the end and helping her find another job (all of her leads are coming through us). I don't think that there's anything wrong with this at all. [ Reply | More ]
