I don't want to get my 5 y.o. started on hand-held games yet personally. I would go for building toys like Lego or Kid K'Nex. [ Reply | More ]

It's nice to have for longer car rides. DS is 6 and has one but to be honest he's really not that into it. The big hits from his birthday this year were a Razor Scooter (his big present from us), K'nex and then lots of arts & crafts supplies. [ Reply | More ]

5yo DS got one and rarely uses it. He has probably used it for a total of 3 hours since getting it in April, but he enjoys it when he does [ Reply | More ]

my ds has it and i will say that the games are all educational - he has learned a lot about math and will sit quietly on his bed and play which is nice - great for travel too. He's not addicted or anything - i think it is ok and i am also against most handheld games and would not get him anything else right now [ Reply | More ]
