Sorry to complain again...This perimenopausal pms comes around before, during and after my period. When I don't have it, I'm really happy. When I have it, the world is full of misery and death. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

The world is filled with misery and death. Maybe you are seeing the world more clearly at that time. [ Reply | More ]

I was just kidding around. I know how you feel though. Sometimes I feel like my soul is just going to crumble if I look too closely at the pain in this world and I honestly wonder why I had children. Now, be those moments as they may, there is also the possibility that we are using a selective perspective that is promoted by the inundation of "news" and negativity... or at least, that is my fall-back position. Didn't mean to sound harsh back. I guess I'm somewhat sad because my aunt has viral meningitis and now has come through the worst part but it keeps showing me how one second everything can be fine and the next it can all come crashing down. [ Reply | More ]

My dd had viral encephalitis so, I know exactly how you feel. It interesting because my perspective on going through that experience is so opposite of yours. I honestly felt it was a blessing because she came out of the experience so differently. I had an equally terrifying experience with my husband and the same end result. They caught things that could have killed him - - putting aside man's inhumanity to man (which is ageless), the earth-shattering moments in our own lives tend to end up shifting something that may have needed shifting. ^^^ BTW, I am 45 and can cry over everything and anything at any given time. I feel like I could sob at will these days. [ Reply | More ]

Thank God they came through it all. I can't imagine dealing with all of that. My aunt is more like a sister than an aunt but it is in a completely different ballpark than a dd and dh. You are very strong. [ Reply | More ]

I'm so glad you posted about this. (I didn't see the first post.) How old are you? I'm 41 and in the last few months my "PMS" has left me in misery too. 2 am crying bouts, total inexplicable despair, suicidal thoughts. It's scary. [ Reply | More ]

OP: I'm 44. One always hears about the physical symptoms and you sometimes hear that it can make women irritable but no one ever told me that one could get so depressed. [ Reply | More ]
