My 3yo dd and I are taking a 6 hour car trip. What should I pack to keep in entertained in the car? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

check out consumer reports. They aren't that expensive now and totally worth the price. We haev a little portable one that just sits between the front seats. I have to grab it if we hit the brakes too hard but it works! So worth it! I'd pay twice what we did! ;-) [ Reply | More ]

i find it best to let ds have an active morning (lots of running) so that he gets tired and then to leave in time for a late nap (ds napped 1-3, so say 2pm) so ds would nap until at least 4, and then stop for dinner (say for an hour around 6pm) and get back on the road around 7pm to arrive by 9pm. often times ds would fall asleep again by 8pm or so. that would mean i only really had to keep him entertained for a couple of hours after nap and then a couple after dinner. after nap he was rested and in a good mood and after dinner he was starting to get tired again. DVD player is really helpful too. [ Reply | More ]
