Any advice? My 3.5 yo is having an increasing number of screaming hitting meltdowns. We try talking calmly, giving in to her reasonable requests, time-outs for hitting, ignoring the screaming and telling her we'll listen when she's calm. Nothing seems to work. She does have twin baby sisters but they are 9 months old. I thought she'd be over it by now. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

you're kidding!? This makes me feel a little better. I was afraid we had really done something to screw her up. Maybe we still are. [ Reply | More ]

I don't think you can escape screwing them up. Just pray she doesn't hate you or put you in a nursing home when your old. [ Reply | More ]

she usually has screaming fits when we're getting ready to go somewhere. She missed camp on Friday because I told her she couldn't go if she didn't stop hitting. I'm trying to be consistent with consequences but I am not always--this morning we went off to the subway in mid-meltdown. [ Reply | More ]
