calcium from green veggies and soy yogurt, vitamin d from the sun, don't worry they eat plenty of fat: olive oil, nuts. [ Reply | More ]

Oh no, are you vegan? Yikes. Give 'em some butter for crying out loud. People have been eating it for a long time. [ Reply | More ]

no, not vegan. my kids eat eggs. and actually, sometimes they eat butter when they ask for it. but it's pretty rare. people actually haven't been eating dairy in the quantities americans now eat it for a very long time. do some research. http://www.ezhealthydiet.com/casein-protein.html [ Reply | More ]

there is nothing wrong with cow's milk! sheeesh. we recently switched, just mixed it in gradually with the formula for a couple of days and it was not problem. only thing to keep in mind is that cows milk does not have the same anti-bacterial properties as breast milk so it can't be left at room temperature for as long. come on, cow's milk is for COWS. too high in protein for kids, casein linked to cancer, and hard to digest. [ Reply | More ]

why is that any weirder than eating chicken embryos or killing a pig and eating it's body? We eat things that taste good and are good for us. It's all weird if you really think about it [ Reply | More ]

that's the first time i've heard someone say with a straight face that eating pigs is good for you. i mean, come on, everyone knows eating vegetarian is healthier. Whether you want to actually implement changes in your own life and those of your kids is another matter. Do the research and come to your own conclusiosn. [ Reply | More ]

LOL! Pork has protein. We need protein. We also need some fat (granted, americans get too much of both) Everything is good in moderation. "everyone" does not "know" that vegetarianism is healthier. Eating a varied diet is the healthiest thing. And I have done my research and come to my own conclusions thank you very much [ Reply | More ]

that's not weird because animals routinely do such things to survive--eating the young of another or eating other mammals. drinking another's milk, not so much. [ Reply | More ]

they probably would if they could figure out how to do it though! [ Reply | More ]

would be the same as nursing from own mother. the only time it happens is when a mammal is clearly adopted by a mother as her own. from a inter-species standpoint, this is quite rare. fact is, they don't do it on the regular b/c it's not natural. [ Reply | More ]

General Topics 07.14.08, 10:31 AM Flag

no. I haven;t read it. I probably will not. I don't base my family's nutrition on any one study. I believe in eating a varied diet that includes everything - even fat and sugar sometimes. Variation and moderation are the keys IMHO to a healthy diet [ Reply | More ]

Start goat's milk early, the cell size is relative to human milk and is well tolerated and full of important nutrients. It's way to young to use rice milk as a milk substitute. Adults don't need milk-babies do; One yo is a baby, so talk to ped nutritionist-don't take my advice, decent as it is, or any other on such an important issue, from UB. [ Reply | More ]
