To anyone who has been through the private school appication process--could you please tell me what the playgroup/interviews are typically like. For instance, how many kids do they meet with at one time. DS has has scored very well on the erbs, but still has some separation anxiety in new situations, and the larger the group, the more difficult it is for him. Obviously concerend about this and am w ondering whether I should factor this into the analysis for which schools to apply to. tia [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

parent interview? the play date is watching them in large groups and then working in smaller ones. They observe a lot of the free time at the start and finish of the playdate [ Reply | More ]

anywhere from 4 to 8 dc at a time. St. Bernard's sees each boy individually. Same woman does all the evaluations/interviews. Make sure it is on your list. [ Reply | More ]

depends on the school. dc's attended playdates with 4-5 kids. there was a little warm up time, then questions, then some play and walk away with a gift. if dc is shy, just make sure that is in ps report and in your apps so dc's playdate is consistent with other stuff (like dc likes to take time in new situations-be positive, not neg about it though) [ Reply | More ]
