Anyone on with a dc in G&T middle school? Trying to get an idea of what "a ton of homework" means. My dc does a lot of after school and thinking I shouldn't book anything his first year entering G&T. Hoping it is not as bad as it sounds on UB? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Depends on the school. For example, Delta kids have a lot more HW than Anderson kids. The schools have different HW policies. [ Reply | More ]

np: Anderson is near impossible to get in, they have like 10 spots for all of the city, so if you live in D3 and dc has great 4th grade scores odds are s/he will end up at Delta. Which is known for 2-3 hours of homework per night. [ Reply | More ]

Supposedly closer to 1 than 2 hours a night, but again, depends on the child. [ Reply | More ]

nnp - This is Delta's old rep, but per kids there now on the tour we went on (and per new Inside Schools review fwiw) it is supposed to be more like 1 1/2 to 2 hours a night. [ Reply | More ]

I think it's probably very child dependent. I have a couple friends whose kids go and they definitely got a bit of a shock the first year there, and I was told at least two hours most nights. I am sure some kids can do it faster and some will take longer, so no doubt some can be done in 1 1/2 hour or even sooner. [ Reply | More ]

Go to helicopter mom blog. Though she is nuts. Practically does all the homework for her son. [ Reply | More ]
