Yesterday went to look at a house in Norwalk. so depressing! No park to walk to, no coffee shops nearby, etc. etc. The closest "downtown area" consisted of a 7-11 and a mechanic. Those kinds of things are important to me as a SAHM. Thinking about looking in Fairfield. Is it any better? And how is the commute to midtown? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

i don't know norwalk, but fairfield seems cute...i haven't seen the main downtown area, part i've seen is like typical suburb w track-malls, but lots of different shops. [ Reply | More ]

^^as for commute, we drive there, but i think you have to switch trains in stamford. it's about an hour or so. why not look closer, like stamford? [ Reply | More ]

You don't have to switch trains in Stamford. Fairfield has several train options that range from 67 minutes to 85... really great community but commute is long. If the office is near Grand Central and your house is within 10 minutes of the train station it's totally doable. Great town. suzysaid.com will give you a sense of the community. [ Reply | More ]
