Miscarriage question: After an 5 week ultrasounds (and the one at 7 weeks) showing a irregular shaped empty gestational sack I was told I would miscarraige. Now at 8 1/2 weeks I have started bleeding. But it is very light. Just spotting for 2 days now. Is this normal to bleed so lightly in the beginning? I am expecting that the bleeding should get heavier. Can anyone share their experience? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I had the same situation, but my dr recommended a d & c before I started bleeding. I would call tomorrow; he had told me that if I did start to bleed, it would get worse and he was worried about me losing too much blood- I am sorry for what you are going through. I am hoping that I bleed more than I am. It seems that it has to come out and if the bleeding stays light, how could it. I am trying to avoid a D&C. I had one on Nov, and it took me a long time to recover. Sorry for your loss. How are you doing with it all? [ Reply | More

I am okay- I get upset every once in a while, a few times a day, but I try to think positive and not think about God's will or any of the b-s lines everyone told me, and just believe that my dh and I will keep moving towards our dream of having a baby, hopefully sooner than later. I feel the same way about it being Gods will. There has been a disconnect between my husband and I for a while. He has crossed so many lines with me since we are married (6 yrs), and has been so mean. And even though it is calmer now between us and we have seemed to work through whatever we were going through, I ahve lost respect for him and want to take care of myself now. I kind of feel that this is part of why it is not working out for our third baby. I have 2 healthy beautiful boys (3 and 4 1/2) and feel fortunate that I have them. I m/c'd at 8 weeks and it started out as spotting for the first 4 days or so then got heavier, with some clots....like a very very heavy period. Of course I don't know when exactly the embryo died as I never went to the OB before the bleeding started [ Reply | More

We never had a heartbeat so I just keep thinking that we never had a baby, just the potential and something happened that made God change his mind on the timing- not very religious, but definitely felt something through this. [ Reply | More

that's so hard...I sort of felt glad that I hadn't made it to the 1st OB appt so I never saw anything on the ultrasound...only reason I knew I was pg was the positive preg test and the fact I missed my period...this made it easier to deal with [ Reply | More

So just try to think of it as a false start, like a race- someone stepped off too soon, and you have to try and start again, hopefully soon! That is what we are thinking - and we are going to enjoy every minute of trying again- =) [ Reply | More

I know there are certain thing I can control, and certain things I cant, so instead of losing my focus on the things I can not control, I try (and try being the operative word) to stay positive.
