UGh. So glad school year is over for now. I can't stand putting up with moms who have help AND husbands who are around (yes, that means i don't have hired help EVERY day and my husband works 60 hour weeks and travels...) and consider themselves soooo much more organized and put together than I am. They. have. no. idea. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

It depends. If you are one of 'them', then my jeans and tshirt and ponytail at school pick up and drop off make me a slob. As do myy lack of a proper 'handbag' and the fact that i wear running shoes and not bejewelled sandals with pedicured feet. I may seem disorganized to those who have the extra time to shrink and laminate parent contact lists so that they have them handy at any time....etc etc [ Reply | More ]

i'm just like you, except I don't give a rat's ass what "they" think of me. I do my thing, make sure I pick up my kids every day almost on time, and I lose the laminated class list 2 minutes after they hand it to me. who cares? it sounds like you want to be like them a little more, which is sad. I think you're assuming a lot. I look around at other parents at my kids' schools and figure I don't know the full story unless I know them really well. You never know what someone else is truly dealing with. And for the record, I've got a DH who works long erratic hours, travels a great deal and w/ not much warning or pattern, two kids to manage, a household to run, some help but certainly not a full-time nanny and I still manage to take care of myself. Some other stuff I let go--not everyone does everything perfectly. If you're happy w/ your situation then just let it roll. [ Reply | More ]
