my almost 10mo ds does not show any iterest in clapping his hands. He likes when I do it but as soon as I try to show him how, he looses interest. What other exercises can I do with him to promote this kind of motor skills? TIA! [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

many don't do this till around 12 mo...they just "get it". just keep clapping in front of him, it's all about modeling behavior....and I used to hate when people said this to me but ya gotta relax about this stuff [ Reply | More ]

good to know, thank you. My older ds started to speak late (probably genetic factor) but he also not so interested in fine motor activities so I thought that his speech delay was exacerbated by that. I am already relaxed about the fact that my #2 will be a late talker but I want him to be adequately developed in other areas... [ Reply | More ]
