I am worried. My 4.5 yo dd writes her name from right to left and her letters are backwards. I try to encourage her to write them the other way but she refuses. As for the rest of the alphabet there are some letters that she does write correctly. Any BTDT moms out there? Is it too early to get her evaluated? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

It's normal. In a few months, she'll start writing it left to right. She still might reverse some letters, which is also normal. The important thing is that she gets it at all. [ Reply | More

My 5yo used to do that. Everything she wrote was mirror image.She started writing very early so I didn't make a big deal of it. Everythings straightened out now,she seemed to naturally progress out of it and her preschool was traditional and focused on one letter a week, not sure if this had any effect. [ Reply | More
