my 2yr old DS refuses to go in the stroller. last week he fell at the park, hit his head and got stitches. the nanny put him in the stroller right after to examine his head and now it seems he associates the stroller with injury. we live in NYC and it is so important to use it - getting desperate now, its been nearly 2 weeks. any suggestions? bribes, rewards, sweet talk, dolls, nothing works!!! pick him up, hold him down, strap him in and go. you give a 2 year old way too much credit. [ Reply | More ]

basically exposure therapy. once you do this a few times he will no longer associate it with the injury any more [ Reply | More ]

LOL. He'll associate it with bondage. But ITA with the OR. Just put him in there. [ Reply | More ]

my almost 2 yr old fights to get into stroller at times. it is through gentle force that we get them in there. my dc wants to walk everywhere, and is surprisingly good at not running off, etc. but there are times when we need to use stroller. but you are in charge, what you say goes, the dc has to deal with it [ Reply | More ]

I would be very surprised if his refusal to go into the stroller has anything to do with the injury. It is just that age when kids want to walk instead of sitting around. If you have to have him in the stroller put him in, strap him in, and off you go. He will get the message. [ Reply | More ]
