what do kids wear to preschool? I know it sounds like a stupid question, but sneakers or are flip flops/crocs ok? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

flip flops are not good. They need to be able to climb around at playtime and flip flops aren't safe. I prefer shorts. but there are dresses with pants underneath [ Reply | More ]

also dress dd in clothes you don't mind getting really dirty and/or possibly stained. [ Reply | More ]

You can wear bike shorts or leggings (when colder) under any dress. That's what I do with DD who loves to wear dresses. No issues. Sneakers are only necessary on gym days, but dc should have shoes she can run in, so flip flops are not good. A lot of kids do wear crocs though I don't think they are that great either. They have to be able to run, climb and play comfortably. Keep this in mind for shoes. Don't think "pretty" clothes...think play clothes. [ Reply | More ]

np: it's been helpful for DD to have things she can get on and off easily so she can go to the bathroom & also do dress ups w/o waiting for help. And ITA on things than can get dirty & no flip flops, although crocs have been fine. [ Reply | More ]

I remember a girl in my sons preschool class had to have her parents in repeatedly to discuss her clothing. Bonpoint dresses with matching shoes and tights every day. The parents just didn't care that their daughter could not participate fully in the activities. [ Reply | More ]

Why not? They should have let her participate and ruin her clothes a few times and the parents would learn. [ Reply | More ]
