I had a really bad experience with him and the office.(It was only for one visit.) I was sent to him by my midwife for a colposcopy. I saw him about an hour after my appt. time. (The women in the office were laughing because, apparently, he's chatty and gets behind in his schedule.) My midwife sent me to him for the colpo since it was something that she could not do. Right before the procedure, he asked if I wanted to see photos of the baby. I, of course, said yes and mentioned that I had my trans-nuchal ultrasound in two days. Anyway, he spent about 1 minute taking photos and then got on with the procedure that I actually scheduled for. I was really surprised when I saw that he sent in a claim for the $300 for my 1-minute ultrasound. I called to see if they could waive the co-insurance that I was being charged specifically for the ultrasound. The woman in billing was highly unsympathetic and told me that my charge was so small that it wasn't a big deal for me to pay it. Anyway, the worst is that I'm only allowed two ultrasounds under my insurance and that was my second. Anything from here goes under medical review by my insurance company. This is a huge bummer since I still need to have my 20-week and a fetal echocardiogram before I'm done. Overall, not a good experience. [ Reply | More ]

Dr. Mucciolo is a great dr. and suregon. I'd trust him with my life. I was in the hospital for over five weeks due to some complitations and he was very attentive and caring. I agree, he is super busy, appointments can take a while and be rescheduled--which is a pain. But he is very skilled and well respected at NYU. [ Reply | More ]

He was my OB. He is competent, intelligent and I trusted him. That being said, he is not a "touch-feely" dr. He gives it to you straight, without a lot of hand holding. And he is very busy, so appointments can be rushed. But as my due date got closer, I felt he made an effort to get to know me better. He was not on call the night I delivered, so I can't speak to that. [ Reply | More ]

I had a very pleasant experience with Dr. Mucciolo himself. I thought he was both courteous and respectful, and really helped me understand everything about what my body would be going through in the next few months. However, his office staff is TERRIBLE. One young woman, I believe her name is Janey or Jamey, both insulted and laughed at my situation WHILE I WAS SITTING NOT 2 FEET AWAY. She was rude and insulting. The last thing a woman needs during her gynecological exams is a member of the office staff making uncomfortable comments. [ Reply | More ]

He was my OB, I adore him. He is always running late for appts but this is mostly because he takes so much time to talk with you and explain things. Very supportive of my desire not to do epidural -- talked me through labor in a way that enabled me to stick with my plan not to get one. Doesn't routinely do episiotomies either. [ Reply | More ]

He delivered my baby, and I really like him. He can be "short" but overall he is a great doctor. I will have my second one with him! [ Reply | More ]
