Help - Today 11 week old DD cried/screamed hysterically for 15 minutes or so several times. It is totally out of character for her and was a scream as if she were in pain? Is it possible gas can cause this? am confused and wondering if I should bring her to ped tomorrow. I spoke with ped earlier in the day who suggested I give tylenol. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

if she develops a fever, call the ped. otherwise, yes on the tylenol and wait until monday. the first time this happened to us, dd had an ear infection and we didn't recognize it. she was screaming, arching her back, inconsolable. i didn't recognize it, because i had never experience one before. (btw, dd is now 6 and happy and healthy.) [ Reply | More ]

have 2 older dc's but neither got infections that young, however, both have very small ear canals and ear tubes so wouldn't be surprised if this one has problems. [ Reply | More ]

my dd is chronic with them. started at about 12 weeks. she can't get a cold w.out morphing into and ear infection. as long as there is no fever... [ Reply | More ]

do you have long hair? you should watch her fingers and toes closely -- easy for a long strand of hair to wrap tightly around a tiny finger. hurts like crap and it's easy to miss. [ Reply | More ]

what were the signs? she tends to poop every day, but no poops since middle of the night last night, which is why I thought it could be gas. I just feel badly b/c it is so unlike her. Dr. has hours tomorrow so I am wondering if I should just bring her in. She has 12 errk appt. on Tues. but do not know if i can wait until then [ Reply | More ]

she cried a lot when i tried to nurse her. she wouldn't latch on. the test was non-invasive...they taped a bag over her vagina and waited until she peed. [ Reply | More ]

that happened a few times today - she does not seem very interested in nursing (or bottle from sitter when I had to run out) [ Reply | More ]

I agree with the tylenol.. sometimes they are overtired and in a place they can't get out of... tylenol take the edge off and breaks the cycle. [ Reply | More ]
