newborn at home - milk has come in - breasts are huge - when baby nurses -do breasts usually feel "emptier" or softer? bc newborn is nursing for about 40-45 total (both sides) and breasts dont feel empited or much softer. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

They will feel softer soon. When the milk first comes in they are like enormous rocks. But it gets better, probably in a few days. (It was the worst part of my pregnancy/early newborn phase for sure - the milk coming in initially). [ Reply | More ]

yes, they should feel like there is less pressure right after. Is dc latching on properly? Does neck look like he/she is swallowing? Is there any milk dripping out? [ Reply | More ]

maye a little less pressure - she is latching on and sucking like a mad woman. i know milk is coming out vb i squueze and it drips out trying to see it drip from her mouth cant tell if she is swallowing but remember not being able to tell that w 1st db either [ Reply | More ]

If baby produces no tears, has crystals in diaper, and dry lips, see doc to rule out dehydration. For your comfort, express some milk in a warm shower till you feel a bit softer. Better yet, pump the milk [ Reply | More ]
