Thinking about having a 3rd. I have 2 DDs (almost 4 & just turned 2), work 4X/WK, am 38 so I feel there's not a lot of time to decide. Money would be tight. How hard is it? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

you're already busy w/ 2 kids. It is not that much harder going to 3. I found the jump from 1 to 2 to be much more difficult. #3 just fit in, and the kids love the baby. [ Reply | More

OP: My mom always said that going from 2 to 3 was what put her over the edge. Having the 2 so close together was tough, but now it's getting much easier (plus I'm just getting used to it). I was thinking that if the middle one is 3 roughly, it'll be much easier than 20 mos apart. [ Reply | More

my #3 is 3yr 2mo younger than #2. It was an easier spacing than w/ #1 and #2 (2yrs). Kids really understood the concept of the new baby being in our family...Also, your kids are used to having another child in the house, having another is not quite the shock as it for #1 when #2 came along...Now, however, I'm pg (surprise!) w/ #4 and they'll be 14mo apart. I totally agree. The only thing is that you will not be able to give the same amount of attention to all kids anymore. My experience is that you will spend a lot of time with the new baby while the oldest get always the newest and bestest while the middle child tends to just tag along somehow. [ Reply | More
