i don't think that at all. the pple with tats tend to go their own way. when i think all inclusive, i think relatively pampered, sheltered city dweller who doesn't like to get too dirty and prefers not to see the real country and prefers to hang by an americanized pool or beach with gates separating them from the locals. we went to breezes in Nassau once and have been on some cruises. They are convenient but you sort of grow tired of eating in the same place every time. At Breezes (it was a no-kids resort) they even included alcohol...but the drinks were really watered down...as they say, you get what you pay for [ Reply | More ]

liked ours. Mexico Puerto Vallarta. Went to a really nice one "Melia." Lots of restaurants on prem. great food. the music they play was a bit annoying, but overall soooo relaxing. [ Reply | More ]

We have done two cruises, but we do them with extended family. I don't think I would want to do it with just us. With everyone there it works very well--you get together at dinner time, during the day everyone has someone to be with (or can be alone if they want). We've also done two all-inclusives in Mexico--one very high-end and one at an "eco" resort (still unclear did that mean really cheap or really green? Hated it). Again, it was with bigger groups (one for a destination wedding) and that works well (if you happen to like Mexico). [ Reply | More ]

with family or without? we've been to swept away in negril, jamaica. it's couples only. lots of europeans. the food was great. the resort was very very small. very little nightlife and not too many free activities: beach, kayaking, health club, a few pools. it was exactly what dh and i wanted. a lot of quiet and relaxation in a beautiful setting. we've been talking about going to a club med with the kids next year. dh grew up going to those with his family so we'll see. . . OP: i'm planning a 40th birthday trip for a group of 5-8 women. so we really don't want anything couples or family oriented. we were laughing about going to mexico during spring break (the trip is going to be in march) but we're open to anything. [ Reply | More ]

Oh I'm chillin' I just would find it obnoxious for a "friend" to expect that kind of celebration. I'm guessing when the plane takes off OP will not have 8 friends on the flight with her...more like 2 or 3. [ Reply | More ]

went to the ritz in jamaica all inclusive for 5 days, 4 night... it was great. kid friendly, restaurants better than average, alcohol (even room service) was included. Couldn't complain one bit.. although four night was just enough, would have wanted something different if staying longer. [ Reply | More ]
