I have no idea, but I imagine less than the $15 avg in NYC. What age/experience of sitter are we talking about too? I would say $10-12/hour depending on that, for 2 young kids [ Reply | More

No - you cannot do this. That will make the sitter want to work for you "more" than your sil, and that is not fair to your sil, who is doing you a favor by giving you a good sitter's name and info. [ Reply | More

What does it matter? Every heard of markets? Prices are different in different markets. What you pay in NYC will not be the same as what you pay in Little Rock. [ Reply | More

$10 is the going rate in St. Louis, I doubt that Little Rock is higher. $10 is fine and more than they are going to make at Starbucks, etc. in that area. [ Reply | More

I give my HS neighbor $10/hr for 1 easy dc. I pay college sitters $12-13/hr and my nanny charges $15/hr. I HAVE paid a college sitter $20/hr when I was in a real bind, but that is really too much IMO. I think I might pay my HS sitter a little more for 2 dcs, but my nanny doesn't charge more for 2 than for 1. [ Reply | More
