my 10 month old dd has 102.5 degree fever (taken anally). We are in a hotel far from home. She's acting fine--eating. drinking her bottle, playing, smiling. Should I find an emergency room or wait it out through the night? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

oh my god, i was looking for some help. she felt really warm so i took her temp. she has a 102.5 degree fever. I'm not sure what to do. I'm in a weird situation because I'm in a hotel. I'm trying to decide whther or not to take her to an emergency room. I haven't dealt with her having fevers so I'm not sure how worried to be since she's acting like she feels fine. [ Reply | More ]

outside of Baltimore. she could be teething. she didn't get a fever when she cut the first two teeth. Is a fever this high possible just because of teething? That could be the explanation since I think her top two may be coming in. She isn't really drooling but she didn't when her first two came in either [ Reply | More ]

if she is acting fine, do yourselves all a favor and go to sleep. give her some tylenol. there is no reason to drag her to an er in the middle of the night -- if she were really sick you would know it. [ Reply | More ]

Even though you are far from home, I would call my ped's after-hours number to see what they recommend. GL. [ Reply | More ]

babies get weird fevers. so do kids. always watch the child, not the number on the therm. you can have a 100.1 fever but if the child is lethargic, confused, and obviousy SICK, then that's another story. [ Reply | More ]
