Why is it that in Park Slope only PS 321 gets talked about when there are so many other schools in the area (e.g., 107, 10, 282)? 321 sounds overcrowded to me - why all the hype? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

321 has been great for years, so people know about it. But PS 107 had amazing test scores this year -- I think they must be one of the top public schools in NYC now. I wish I knew what they were doing so my public school could do the same thing. [ Reply | More

I don't know. My kids are there (it is our zoned school and I believe in actually sending my child to the zoned school) and it is actually great. Much more diversity than 321, smaller classes, really excellent teachers [ Reply | More

Huh? My kids go to 282 & main problem is no diversity: White: 5%; Black: 64%; Hispanic: 30%; Asian 2%. I do think that will change with new DOE policy to force you to go to zoned school. [ Reply | More

Very traditional approach to education which many of the current parents like. Not a lot of parent involvement. Principal hasn't endeared herself to parents in the neighborhood. [ Reply | More

Rote may be too strong a word, but that is the perception. My child was in PreK which was great, but that is what I hear about higher grades. They have good test scores, which many parents focus on. Te attitude in the halls is fairly authoritarian. I do think change is in the air as many neighborhood parents are sending their kids their. Just not soon enough for me. [ Reply | More
