My father passed away this past month, and though I am also grieving, I am suddenly obsessed with TTC (#1). My DH and I have seriously thought about trying for ~4 yrs (we're 32) and I've actually casually thought of it for all 6 yrs of marriage, but kept putting it off (crazy careers, etc.) Now, suddenly, it is so urgent. I'm ovulating this week and positively obsessed. We started having sex on ~day 6 or7 and I'm adamant about doing it straight until ~day 16 or 17. I don't know, I guess all of a sudden I feel old, and the shortness of life and how little time we can get with our kids is hitting me. Please tell me to relax. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Relax, but if you're trying to do things quickly, are you charting BBTs and/or using OPKs? That at least takes the forced sex off the table. [ Reply | More

Well, there are studies that say sex everyday actually reduces sperm quality (both count and motility) so you may want to rethink it. Try to enjoy this part while you can (while loosely keeping track of your cycles) and then seek help if not pregnant in 6 months because if it turns out you do need help, it gets not fun very quickly.
