WWYD: DH ran up a $2,300 bill in a strip club. Claims he was dupped and the bouncers forced him to pay. I'm not buying it. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Duped into what? What is his excuse, exactly? [ Reply | More ]

He claims they charged him for more than the drinks/dances he ordered. But he refuses to contest the charge with our credit card company. Which makes me suspicious. [ Reply | More ]

Wow, what a great excuse. Sure, honey, I went to a strip club, got drunk and had a few lap dances, but they overcharged me. That would make me feel so much better. [ Reply | More ]

A former stripper from Scores was telling the club's story in the Post the other day. She said that happened all the time. [ Reply | More ]

And no one complains, and the AG has never investigated? [ Reply | More ]

there have been compaints, but they usually vanish when the complainants reveal that they were so drunk that they don't really remember what they ordered and that they signed off on the charge without reviewing the bill. [ Reply | More ]

From the article: Then there was the consistent overcharging of credit cards. I was sitting in the dressing room one evening applying makeup when the house mom received a call from someone complaining that his credit card had been overcharged. We laughed at yet another sucker falling prey to the place. And I'd overhear snatches of suspicious conversation between managers as they took someone's credit card. The owner of the card would then be pushed into a private room, plied with drinks and girls and handed a bill hours later when he was too drunk to figure out whether the amount added up. Lol, I wouldn't buy it either. And even if he's telling the truth, it does not reflect well on him. [ Reply | More ]

they shut the gold club in atlanta down because of this. it's actually a huge part of the club business. pretty standard. now, the question is, let's say he only "bought" $500 and not $2300. Would you not be mad then? I'm wondering at what point did he cross the line with you? [ Reply | More ]

We each have individual accounts with "mad money" that we can use however we see fit. But we agreed that we wouldn't spend more than $250 from joint accounts without discussing it first. So I would have been fine with him spending any amount from his mad money account, or $250 from our joint accout. I'm worried that he did more than just get a lap dance and a vodka tonic.
