settle disagreement between dh and me: I think 17 mo's hand should alway be held when she walks down a sidewalk next to a street incase she tries to run into traffic. DH thinks this will just encourge her to be fearful. What do you think? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

b/c it makes a kid fearful? I think there is a difference btw fearful and cautious. 17 mo do not have much common sense and it's our job to protect them from dangers. [ Reply | More ]

depends on the kid. we play stop - go. she goes and I say stop and she stops. then i explain about never running into the street. although she did run in one time and I spanked her. she's never run in the streets. she just knows. it depends on the kid. [ Reply | More ]
