New to NYC. Live in Tribeca. Where should my somewhat sporty, very smart, very outgoing DS apply for K? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Apply broadly whatever you do. A child like that will probably do well in many different environments. Do you want to stay downtown, or would you apply uptown as well? [ Reply | More ]

I think I would prefer downtown, mainly because I prefer to live downtown and assume that I'll have more in common with the parents who also choose to live downtown. Does that make sense? [ Reply | More ]

No. The school would be for your child, not you. [ Reply | More ]

But I want my child to be with children whose parents have similar values to mine. [ Reply | More ]

I'm afraid to ask. In TriBeCa, what "values" would those be? [ Reply | More ]

LOL. I like to think a little more relaxed and less old money than the UES. Maybe I'm fooling myself. [ Reply | More ]

I live in TriBeCa and it seems the only "values" people down here have these days is the crass display of money. [ Reply | More ]

Tour the schools and see which you like. Grace is pretty challenging academically and has an amazing new gym. [ Reply | More ]
