I'm pg with a boy ( have dds) and was with my cousin and her ds yesterday. He's so active (hyper). He was told repeatedly to stop doing things and he would say OK and just do it anyway. He didn't listen at all and acted like he was high on uppers. Scared the hell out of me. I have to easy going kids. Holy shit..please tell me all boys aren't like that [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I wish I could tell you boys weren't physical and active, certainly more so than girls. But they don't have to be out of control either. You do have to run them a bit more like a labs. [ Reply | More ]

When he was told to stop and he did it anyway, what was the consequence? If no consequence, I'd say that's more to blame for his behavior than his gender. Unless you say what you mean and mean what you say, then your kids will be unruly. [ Reply | More ]

she would tell him 1 or 2 times..he didn't listen..when she gave him a time out for not listening (he was jumping on my mother's furniture) he had a all out tantrum..Ran, cried, threw himself on the floor..he's 6 yr old [ Reply | More ]

what was the consequence for tantrumming in timeout? in my house, that simply extends the timeout. i'm betting he doesn't get consistent consequences at home. just a guess. i obviously don't know. [ Reply | More ]

you are right..he calmed down and she didn't go threw with the rest of the time out. Kept on threatening to leave but didn't do it. I agree you need to be consistent. That's how I am with my kids. I don't play around [ Reply | More ]
